Tough week at Polyculture Homestead!

Well not every day can be great when you are raising animals, but this has been an exceptionally hard week.  We lost two six week old New Zealand Red kits after we got a bad batch of feed. Then after watching everyone else carefully took I sigh of relief when it looked like they were doing alright. Unfortunately, we also had a still born lamb today and then lost two three week old American Blues kits right after we removed the nest box. Then to top it all off the Flemish Giant doe we bought to start experimenting with creating a fast growing pastured rabbit passesd away as well from what looks like bloat. I

Recycled duck house

The new pallet duck house. Easy access roof for egg retrieval

Skip completed the pallet duck house today. We only had to buy paint and the roof panal everything else was recylced. Now to move it out to the pasture and start on the Ram house for Studly.
